Greetings District K Neighbors,

As many of you may be aware, yesterday afternoon a 96 – inch pipe designed to carry ferry drinking water burst while a city contractor was making a repair to the line.

In accordance with The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s requirement to issue a boil water notice when water pressure drops below a certain threshold, the City of Houston is asking all residents to conserve and boil water for the next 24 hours. This ensures safety as there is an increased risk of bacteria in the water below a certain water pressure level.

Please be advised no homes were flooded and no injuries have been reported.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this notice, please feel free to reply to this email or contact my office at 832.393.3016.

Sincerely,

Martha Castex-Tatum
Vice Mayor Pro Tem
