Last month, Council Member Green facilitated the District K’s annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) meeting at Fondren Middle School, 6333 South Braeswood Blvd.
The Public Works and Engineering Department (PWE) presented a PowerPoint presentation about the Rebuild Houston initiative and gave an update of its 10-year plan. Other City of Houston department representatives, such as General Services and the Parks and Recreation Department, were on-hand to give an update on existing CIP projects and proposed CIP projects within District K.
“I continue to encourage all District K constituents to come out and be informed of proposed CIP projects planned within the council district. Like every year, I was pleased we had a diverse cross-section of District K constituents attend this year’s CIP meeting, ask questions about current and proposed projects planned for their neighborhood, and left the meeting knowing their viewpoints were heard and answered by the City representatives present,” said Council Member Green.
Only one new CIP project was announced for this 2016-2020 5-year plan CIP: Westbury Storm Drainage project. To view a map of the CIP projects presented, click: http://www.houstontx.gov/cip/Dist_K_Project_List.pdf.
