We wanted to provide you with an update of our current openings and closures.
At this time, all of the YMCAs in the Greater Houston area will open as scheduled this morning, Wednesday, April 20. However, the D. Bradley McWilliams Family YMCA at Cypress Creek will not be open. All YMCA programs held at this center, including youth sports, group exercise classes, and swim lessons are canceled for today. We will continue to monitor the water levels of Cypress Creek to determine when the facility will be able to reopen.
As of now, the following program closures are in effect:
- YMCA Children’s Academy at University Park
- YMCA Children’s Academy at Lonestar College – Kingwood
- YMCA Children’s Academy at Lonestar College – North Harris
- YMCA Children’s Academy at Lonestar College – Cy Fair
- Before and After School programs if the ISD is closed for the day, including Aldine ISD, Alief ISD, Cy Fair ISD, Katy ISD, Klein ISD, Sealy ISD, Spring ISD and Tomball ISD
All closure decisions are made with the safety of our members, participants and employees in mind.
We ask that you please check your center’s webpage at ymcahouston.org or the YMCA of Greater Houston Facebook page for the most up-to-date opening, delay and closure information. If there are any additional delays or closures, we will communicate them as quickly as possible.
