The Texas Dept. of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to install center traffic barriers along the US 90A corridor (South Main St.) extending from Hiram Clarke Rd. to Beltway 8. The center traffic barriers construction project is scheduled to start on November 4, 2013.
The District K office, in conjunction with State Representative Alma Allen, is hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fountain Life Center (14065 South Main St. @ Hillcroft Ave) – see attached flyer. This construction project will highlight the traffic control along US 90A during the construction process that will slightly impact the commercial businesses and residential streets that feed onto US 90A. TxDOT representatives will facilitate the informational meeting.
Even though our council office has outreach to those businesses and residential communities that reside and feed onto US 90A (from their dead-end streets), we want you to also be aware of this construction project. Your respective communities feed onto US 90A (via Hiram Clarke, South Post Oak, Chimney Rock, Hillcroft, and/or Fondren).
The informational meeting is a public meeting and all are welcome. However, because this meeting is occurring during the daytime (per TxDOT preference), we don’t expect a large turnout. The meeting will be very informal so feel free to attend and/or send a representative(s) from your organization to listen, ask questions (if any), and report back to your group.
The District K council office is planning to post additional information about this US 90A TxDOT project onto our District K webpage such as FAQs, etc. Also, we are posting information about this project within the upcoming District K e-newsletter next week.
