Get to know your neighbors and community leaders at the annual National Night Out.

Whether you’re having a block party, , cook-out or neighborhood watch, we want to know about it. Register your neighborhood event with the National Association of Town Watch at www.natw.org, and email Joe Gatson in our office at [email protected]. with your neighborhood name, contact person, location and time of your event. We look forward to seeing you on October 2, 2018 as we partner with law enforcement to make our communities safer.


Share Your Ideas for District K Through the Neighborhood Matching Grant Program

Deadline: November 2, 2018

Making sure District K is as great as it can be is a team effort. We rely on your ideas and feedback to keep the district moving in the right direction. The city of Houston’s Department of Neighborhoods (DON) is spearheading a matching grant program that will help bring your amazing ideas to life. Be sure to follow the steps below to get your project in by the November 2nd deadline. We can’t wait hear about the creative initiatives from our District K residents!

You can see what’s on the agenda for the various committee meetings as well as the City Council meeting each week by accessing this link. Be sure to tune in to HTV on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. for public session, and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. for the weekly city council meetings.

One year ago, Hurricane Harvey dropped an unprecedented amount of rain on our city. It was a joy to fellowship with residents from one of the hardest hit neighborhoods in the district. We will continue working to manage flooding in our city.


Congratulations Principal Bailey and the entire Lawson Middle School faculty, staff, students and parents on the ribbon cutting of your new state-of-the-art campus. We wish you all a wonderful school year in your new space.
