Who Can Vote

All registered voters in Harris and Fort Bend Counties are eligible to participate. You do not need to be affiliated with a political party, but you will select which party’s ballot you wish to vote on when you check in.

Acceptable Forms of ID

Voters must present one of the approved photo IDs, including:

  • Texas Driver License
  • Texas Personal Identification Card
  • Texas Handgun License
  • U.S. Military ID with photo
  • U.S. Citizenship Certificate with photo
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate
  • U.S. Passport (book or card)

If you’re in line by 7:00 PM, you are entitled to vote.

What’s on the Ballot?

Ballot contents vary based on your voter registration address and may include federal, state, and local races. You can review and print your personalized sample ballot at HarrisVotes.com or FortBendCountyTX.gov before heading to the polls.

Harris County offers 280+ vote centers on Election Day. You may vote at any location countywide. Plan ahead and find the most convenient site at HarrisVotes.com.

In Fort Bend County, registered voters can also cast their ballot at any polling location in the county on Election Day. Locate a site at FortBendCountyTX.gov.

Returning a Mail Ballot?

Mail ballots must be processed by Election Day or received by 5 PM the next business day and properly postmarked.

Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas and Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex-Tatum invite residents to attend the second public meeting to discuss the proposed Apartment Inspection Ordinance.

Thursday, March 5, 2026

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Harris County Department of Education

6300 Irvington Blvd.

Serving residents in Districts B, C, D, E, H, and I.

The ordinance has been delayed to allow for additional public input. This meeting is an opportunity for tenants, landlords, property managers, and community stakeholders to share feedback, ask questions, and help shape policies aimed at improving safety and housing standards across Houston.

Translation services will be available, and the meeting will be streamed online for those unable to attend in person.
