Houston City Council Member Larry V. Green, representing District K, has been appointed by Mayor Sylvester Turner to serve as one of two (2) elected officials to represent the City of Houston on the Houston Galveston Area Council’s (HGAC) Transportation Policy Council.
The Transportation Policy Council (TPC) provides policy guidance and overall coordination of the transportation planning activities within the region. The TPC consists of 28 members representing cities and counties, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) one at-large member appointed by the H-GAC Board of Directors representing cities with a population greater than 50,000, and one voting member position for representation from the Gulf Coast Rail District.
“I respectfully thank the Mayor for appointing me as one of the TPC’s primary voting members to represent the City’s interest on this 28-member board. Furthermore, I’m confident that the TPC will continue to find effective solutions to Houston’s overall metropolitan transportation needs,” states Council Member Green.
Other than his appointment to this regional transportation board, Council Member was also reappointed to serve as Chair of the City’s Transportation, Technology, and Infrastructure Committee by Mayor Turner.
The other primary voting member accompanying Council Member Green on the TPC is At-Large Council Member David Robinson.
