District K celebrated Arbor Day on Jan. 21

On Saturday, January 21 the Five Corners District, City Council District K, Council Member Larry Green, Trees for Houston and Houston Parks Board sponsored a tree planting event to celebrate Arbor Day in the community. Residents and business from all over Five Corners gathered together to plant tress along Sims Bayou. This event is a part of the District beautification program and supports Council Member Green’s – Klean and Green campaign to help beautify our community. Disaster Response Availability Request for Greater Houston Area

Dear Red Crossers, Over the past 24 hours we’ve experience severe weather across the Greater Houston area. Currently we have a number of road closures, effected highways and luckily minimal structure damage. The unfortunate part of this storm is we are expecting more rain over the next 24 hours. The Houston EOC has been activated and because of this the Red Cross is on standby. We are calling upon you to set your availability to help us manage the needs of the people potentially impacted.
