On November 4, 2014, the “Tres Amigos: New Energy Sector Opportunities and Synergies in Canada, Mexico, and the United States” Conference took place in Houston’s historic Julia Ideson Library. The event was designed as a unique business dialogue to spotlight future opportunities stemming from reforms to Mexico’s energy industry and new political and economic realities in NAFTA countries.
Among the Conference panelists were Dr. Guillermo Dominguez Vargas, Commissioner of the Mexican National Hydrocarbon Commission; Mr. Mark Maki, Senior Vice President & President Enbridge Energy Partners; and Mr. Alberto Ramos of Gardere Wynn Sewell, LLC. The speakers illuminated new potential for cooperation in the region, and shared their knowledge of the new North American energy landscape.
A special VIP reception followed the Conference and offered guests an opportunity to network with professionals in the oil and gas industry from the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The event was hosted by the World Energy Cities Partnership and the City of Houston Mayor’s International Trade and Development Council for North America, with the generous organizational support of ProMexico and the Consulate General of Canada.
