Houston Parks Board is creating a stronger city, connecting neighborhoods to one another, and connecting people like never before. And we need your help to do it.
The Annual Fund is an important part of our ongoing success. Your support gives our work meaning, and helps keep Houston’s Bayou Greenways beautiful, accessible, safe, and sustainable.
Thank you for investing in this important work as we create, improve, protect, and advocate for parks for everyone, together. |

Texas is globally important for birds.
Every spring and fall, billions of birds migrate through the US, primarily under the cover of darkness. This mass movement of birds must contend with a dramatically increasing amount of light pollution. A 2019 study ranked Houston the second-deadliest city for migrating birds, due to our unique combination of light pollution and being located on a heavily traveled migratory flyway.
By participating in Lights Out, Texas! between now and May 12th, and turning off unnecessary lights between 11 PM and 6 AM, you can make a difference. And if enough of us go dark, we’ll see more stars too. |
