Did you know Black Men have the highest death rate when it comes to prostate and colon cancer? 1 in 7 Black men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. In addition, they are 24% more likely to get colon cancer than White men & 47% more likely to die from it. That is why getting screened is so important for our community. The Fountain of Praise is partnering with Houston Methodist & 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston to empower Black men to take action!
Free prostate and colon cancer screenings are offered on Sat., April 9, 9 a.m. to noon at the Fountain of Praise, 14083 Main St., Houston, TX 77035. On site, you will receive a PSA test, which is a blood test primarily used to screen for prostate cancer and we will provide a take home colon cancer screening kit. The first 75 people to show up for their screening will receive a free meal from The Breakfast Klub!
