Happy New Year!

I hope you each have enjoyed the holiday season with your family and friends. I’m looking forward to an epic 2022 in Houston and District K.

As we welcome 2022 please help us do so safely.  Let’s bring in 2022 without “the bang!” I join Mayor Turner, Chief Finner, Chief Pena and my city council colleagues in asking Houstonians to refrain from illegally firing guns in the air and popping fireworks in the city limits. Please don’t let a thoughtless moment of jubilation cause a senseless tragedy.

The combination of fireworks and gunfire can sound like a shooting gallery in our communities. Be considerate of your neighbors! Stay safe and your District K Team will see you next year.

Vice Mayor Pro Tem Castex-Tatum Partners to Host Community Shred Day for District K Residents

The Vice Mayor Pro Tem invites District K residents to start the new year off by shredding unwanted documents and making room for new business. It’s important that we dispose of documents to protect our privacy and to maintain adequate security when handling sensitive information. As we close out 2021 make sure you box up those documents to bring to one of 3 District K Shred Day locations.

Mark your calendars and let’s start 2022 off without all those piles of paper!
