The Economic Development Committee, chaired by Vice Mayor Pro-Tem, Martha Castex-Tatum, reviews matters related to Economic Development, Domestic and International Trade, Business and Job Creation, and Aviation.

Harris County Small Business Recovery Fund Webinar
Has your business been impacted by COVID-19? Harris County Small Business Recovery Fund program is a $30 million grant program designed to assist small businesses operating in Harris County that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible businesses can obtain grants up to $25,000 to support their ongoing operations and to help business owners stay afloat during this time.

Metro Resumes Collecting Fares
METRO will resume collecting fares for all services beginning Sunday, July 12, 2020. At that time, riders will be required to board buses through the front doors and the rear doors will only be used for exiting. For answers to common questions about fares (including fare costs, payment methods, where to buy fares and more), please visit our fare collection page.
Along with using public transit for only essential trips, customers are reminded seating capacity on all METRO vehicles remains reduced to encourage social distancing. Customers are reminded to wear a mask. Several protective upgrades have been added to the METRO vehicles including hand sanitizer, protective shields around drivers and more frequent cleaning.
