Happy Independence Day!

On this Independence Day, we come together to celebrate the freedom, opportunity, and promise that define our nation. It’s a time to reflect on how far we’ve come, honor those who have fought to protect our rights, and recommit ourselves to building a more united and inclusive future.

As we enjoy time with family, friends, and neighbors—whether it’s at a cookout, parade, or fireworks show—let’s also remember the importance of community, civic engagement, and the shared responsibility we all have to uplift one another.

Wishing you a joyful, safe, and meaningful Fourth of July. May we continue to move forward with hope, resilience, and pride in all that makes us uniquely American and uniquely Houston.

In Service,

Martha

🔥 Fireworks Safety Reminder

The discharge of fireworks is illegal within the City of Houston limits—and for good reason. Fireworks can be extremely dangerous, causing serious injuries and starting fires in homes and neighborhoods. We encourage all residents to leave the fireworks to the professionals and enjoy the many public displays around the city.

For more information on firework safety and city regulations, visit the Houston Fire Department’s Fireworks Safety page:
