I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe. In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. Our City and the Greater Houston area have endured significant trials, with many neighborhoods still experiencing power outages and a dire need for essential supplies. Some homes have also suffered extensive damage. Rest assured, the City of Houston, in partnership with county, state, and federal agencies, is committed to providing the necessary assistance. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Providing Cooling and Charging Centers
- Free transportation to Cooling Centers
- Ice, water and food distribution
- Debris removal and clean-up operations
We understand that many residents are still without power and may be for several more days. It’s crucial to prioritize your safety and comfort in this hot weather, maintain communication with neighbors and emergency services, and make sure you have enough food, water and essential supplies.

FEMA has approved our request for individual assistance. This means residents can get help with temporary housing, emergency home repairs, personal property losses, disaster legal services, disaster unemployment assistance, and related medical, dental, and funeral expenses.
