Gun Buyback Event at NRG Park

June is National Gun Violence Awareness month and the time for the next Gun Buyback event which will be at NRG Park, Yellow Lot, Saturday, June 10, 2023, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Mayor Turner joined Harris County Precinct One Commissioner Rodney Ellis and Houston Police Chief Troy Finner to announce this event as part of the Violent Crime Reduction and Crime Prevention program of the One Safe Houston initiative.

To help remove illegal or unwanted firearms, residents can bring them in, completely anonymously, in exchange for a gift card. No ghost guns will be accepted:

  • $50.00: Non-functioning firearm
  • $100.00: Shotgun or Rifle (Hunting)
  • $150.00: Revolver
  • $150.00: Semi-Auto Handgun
  • $200.00: Rifle Semi-Auto

When access to guns is made easier, the unfortunate access to accidents and killings are also made easier. One gun turned in can prevent a crime, accidental shooting or suicide. This is a voluntary program. If you have guns in your home or car, remember to keep them secured properly.
