Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 14th at 6:00pm for the CenterPoint Energy Safety Meeting with residents of Southwest Crossing Neighborhood. The meeting will be held at the HPD Southwest Command Station in the community room. The address is 13097 Nitida St, 77045.
You may recall at the City Council meeting in October, several residents from Southwest Crossing neighborhood came to speak about the Peak Shaving Facilty located at Hillcroft and West Orem. During the city council meeting I asked Mayor Turner if the City of Houston would work with CenterPoint Representatives to ensure a safety meeting would be held prior to the facility going live, in order for residents to ask questions and understand the safety procedures in place.
The representatives from CenterPoint are prepared for an operational and safety discussion with the community next week. If you live, work, attend church or have students in school near the facility and would like to attend, please know you are welcome to attend the discussion.
