Vice Mayor ProTem Welcomes Harvest Market’s HarvesTrolley to Fort Bend Houston

What an amazing Saturday for our Fort Bend Houston constituents! The Harvest Market HarvesTrolley Tour kicked off in the Chasewood, Quail Run, Briargate and Ridgemont communities. Mayor Sylvester Turner and many local officials came out to support Vice Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex Tatum’s celebration of a groundbreaking initiative for District K. The HarvesTrolley is a “grocery store on wheels” and offers curbside service right outside your door! Mayor Turner applauded the Vice Mayor Pro Tem for having the vision and determination to bring HarvesTrolley to residents in her district.

Excited residents took advantage of the trolley tour and found the prices comparable to other neighborhood grocery stores and in some cases the prices were less! “The tour allowed my neighbors to shop in a way they’d never experienced before. We had a fun day,” said Chasewood resident Phyllis Bailey. Quail Run resident Eleanor Bradley said, “The trolley is colorful and grabs your attention. Curiosity brought out a lot of my neighbors and they were happy they came to check it out!”

Residents have the choice of receiving pre-ordered groceries and fresh Ready Meals from your friendly, neighborhood driver, or by shopping directly from the well-stocked Trolley. You have the freedom to plan ahead or request a Trolley stop- the choice is yours!

“This is a solution! To have a mobile grocery store come directly to your front door meets needs. I want our constituents to know their needs are important,” said Castex Tatum. We are looking forward to continuing our work with Harvest Market to expand the service and hopefully build brick and mortar stores as well.
