Urban Youth Explosion Back-to-School Event – August 17

India House LogoThe India House is sponsoring a Urban Youth Explosion as part of its back-to-school celebration. The event will be FREE of charge and open to the community. City Council Passes TIRZ #25

City Council passed an ordinance to create a tax increment reinvestment zone (TIRZ #25) within the Hiram Clarke and Fort Bend Houston community. The proposed zone consists of approximately 5,533 acres – 1,422 acres within Fort Bend County and 4,194 acres within Harris County - all within the geographical area of the City of Houston. Waterline Replacement Project Planned for Windsor Village Community

The City of Houston Public Works and Engineering Dept. (PWE) is undergoing a waterline replacement project that began July 22 within the Windsor Village neighborhood. Council Member Green facilitated a community meeting with the Windsor Village Civic Club to moderate a discussion among the residents being impacted by the waterline replacement project and the PWE engineers and prime contractor commencing the work.
