New homes, school to rise on 50 acres near med center

By Cara Smith, Reporter, Houston Business Journal Saint Nicholas School, a preschool-8th grade school near the med center, is moving to a 46.82-acre tract of land it plans to fully develop with school buildings, residential components and more. Taeken Ltd., a Houston-area limited partnership, purchased the tract at South Main Street and Jethro Street near the Texas Medical Center for an undisclosed sum. That land will be home to Saint Nicholas School, which is more than doubling its footprint with a new, 38,000-square-foot school, a gym facility, chapel and playing fields on roughly 25 acres of the land. District K reports third lowest number of crimes

As the City of Houston recognized March as the month to "March on Crime," District K Councilman Larry V. Green announced that, once again, the District ranked third lowest in the number of crimes committed in 2015.
