The Houston Fire Department (HFD) and the Care Van Program are teaming up again to provide Houston area children with free childhood immunizations for children birth up to 18 years whose families have no insurance, are underinsured or are on Medicaid. Children with CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) or private insurance will not be accepted. The Houston City Council passed an ordinance on July 24, 2013, calling for the regulation of boarding homes within the City of Houston (COH). The ordinance amends Chapters 1 and 28 of the Code of Ordinances and regulates unlicensed facilities within the COH.
